A little run-down of myself. As you can vary well notice by my profile picture I, David Labelle am an energetic positive and athletic individual. I enjoy exercise, art of all different types and mediums, and also admire combat sports.
I have been involved in martial arts since I was only five years of age. Some may find this shocking, but really it was in my blood. Being the son of a Master and founder of his own system, I really did not have a choice in the manner. Although I stayed as an active practicer of these fine arts, it did not prevent my athletic career in other areas. If anything it help me in every aspect of life, realizing that the mind is our strongest asset.
High School is where I brought my strengths and attributes to competitive sports. I competed in basketball, cross country, and in track and field. After my successful athletic career came to a halt, I ventured into strength and conditioning workouts. It is here where I expressed a passion and felt I needed to help others. With that being said, I have a certification in sports nutrition and also I am a fully certified personal trainer.
It is after two and a half years in the working field that I decided to add to my academic portfolio, so I began studying Communications at the University of Ottawa. It is here, where I was proposed in creating this blog compilation for Dr.Strangelove’s class. I felt the need to analyze an aspect of mixed martial arts. Thus bringing me to the decision of choosing in explaining the wold of mma information websites through the concepts of Harold Innis and Marshall McLuhan.
Then once, brought to the intriguing subject of viral marketing I felt the urge to change subject and analyze viral marketing through several theories and theorist in the world of communications. It is within this subject I felt I could incorporate my personal interest and have a solid research project in a collective piece I can in the end be proud of.
